Risk Assessments for Surface and Interstitial Condensation
Atkinson Science provides risk assessments for surface and interstitial
condensation in buildings in accordance with BS5250:2011. The assessment
method, the Glaser method, is described in BS EN ISO 13788:2012. The Glaser
method assumes that the diffusion of heat and vapour through the building
envelope is one-dimensional. By employing a CFD program, Atkinson Science can
extend the Glaser method to structures in which diffusion occurs in all three
coordinate directions. The case studies below describe risk assessments for
canopy and balcony junctions and for a flat roof. Contact Atkinson
Science if you need a risk assessment for surface and interstitial
condensation.
